Fabrik is a unique independent studio looking to expand its highly experienced team in Manchester.

Having just celebrated our 5th birthday with a collaborative studio rebrand, we looked back on the previous titles we have worked on including, Filthy Lucre, The Lost Bear and The Persistence which received high Metacritic scores over 77 and 78 respectively.

We are currently looking at expanding our team up to 30 by December 2020 as we are working on a globally recognised sci-fi/horror, AAA cross-platform title for the next 2.5 years.

Over the next 5 years, Fabrik will be bringing the development of world-class games to market with new IP creation always at its heart. This will be done through co-development opportunities and working on future-facing platforms which means further expansion into different genres of games and technologies.

We’re looking for an exceptionally skilled Lead Artist​. You will have an exceptional portfolio showing love for creating sci-fi and a broad range of futuristic scenes that help bring life to a game world. Working mainly in 3D, you’ll need to have a good understanding of all aspects of game art creation & optimisation and be comfortable with a lead responsibility and working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.



  • High proficiency in all aspects of 3D packages such as Max/Maya/Modo and Zbrush.

  • Substantial knowledge of skinning, rigging and basic animation.

  • Excellent texturing skills in both Photoshop and Substance Painter.

  • Thorough knowledge of PBR workflow in Substance painter/designer and Quixel mixer.

  • Highly experienced game engines such as Unreal and Unity.

  • A portfolio demonstrating breath-taking prop/environment modelling and texturing techniques, both high and low poly.

  • A great understanding of lighting, shaders and VFX.

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

  • Well organised and autonomous.

  • Should have at least 6 years’ industry experience and worked on 2 x shipped games in a senior or lead position.



  • Working alongside the Art Director, the candidate will lead a highly-skilled art team (Environment/ Props/Characters/Animation).

  • Be available to assess and mentor the art team to help guide their career progression and goals.

  • Ability to create visual benchmark assets to help steer the quality bar for the art team to follow.

  • Establish a technically sound art pipeline that ensures assets meet the criteria for games production.

  • Responsible for assets that are created by the art team follow the given art direction and are within the agreed production deadlines and conform to the required technical specifications.

  • Document art processes and establish a good working practice.

  • Collaborate and communicate daily and weekly with Leads across all disciplines.
