Fabrik Games is celebrating its 5th Anniversary and with that we’re launching a shiny rebrand to coincide with our birthday celebrations on the 28th of June 2019.
Founded in 2014 by CEO Graeme Ankers, formerly Studio Director of Sony’s Studio Liverpool. Fabrik Games began as a publisher with a vision to create and support great new gaming experiences out of Manchester. Our studios are within The Sharp Project, which is used for various gatherings, such as supporting the North West Playtesters events.
In the last 5 years, the studio has always prided itself on its collaborative strength, and entrepreneurial ethos. Our studios are comprised of the most diverse team of talented people in gaming, with over 100 years experience within the industry.
Our aim is to continue to support the northern based games industry while helping to strengthen links across the UK and Internationally. We aim to do that through university workshops, collaborating with new creators and investing in emerging talent and mentorships. As Fabrik is growing, that means we'll be offering many job opportunities, for people from all gaming specialities and will be open to those from other sectors wishing to get into games.
WHY THE REBRAND?
We thought it was time to freshen our logo and reinvigorate our ethos of “Collaboration, Vision, Creation and Entrepreneurial spirit”. This paired with a desire within our dev team to continue to create exciting games, meant that we wanted a strong visual presentation of what matters to us and our continued plans. Here is a link to our new Brand Guidelines.
Some games that have come from our team include ‘Filthy Lucre’. A tactical stealth heist game that gamers can play in single player and co-op, both split screen and online. With 15 missions across 5 locations, there are over 30 upgradable weapons and gadgets to unlock.
‘The Lost Bear’ saw you aid Walnut on her journey home through a mysterious land corrupted by the Snatcher – an ancient creature who devours children’s dreams. It was co-developed with Odd Bug Studio. Lead Designer James Lacy: “They came to visit us not long after we opened Fabrik to show us their game and we instantly fell in love with it. It was great to collaborate with a studio that has such a huge passion for telling wonderful stories that are backed up by a unique art style steeped in the traditions of folklore.”
We at Fabrik Games are excited to begin the next chapter of our journey by pushing the boundaries on new strategic partnerships. We look forward to creating and nurturing new IP’s that can sit on all platforms, co-licensing and co-development opportunities whilst delivering the highest creative and final production quality on all our games!
