
LEAD ENVIRONMENT ARTIST
Fabrik Games is looking for a highly skilled, both creatively and technically, Lead Artist to work on an exciting AAA sci-fi/horror project. You are an outstanding communicator and organizer and you will be responsible for managing art production, supervising art teams and participating in reviewing all art content production towards AAA delivery. You will be an accomplished production-focused artist with a proven track record in the game industry. To accomplish this you will work closely with the Art Director, Art team and Producers to meet deadlines and achieve the product vision.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Help the team technically and artistically to carry out the art director's vision across multiple Domains

Encourage creativity and participation from all team members

Be able to assess and mentor the art team to help guide their career progression and goals

Ability to create visual benchmark assets to help steer the quality bar for the art team to follow

Establish a technically sound art pipeline that ensures assets meet the criteria for games production

Responsible for assets created by the art team following the given art direction and are within the agreed production deadlines and conform to the required technical specifications

Document art processes and establish a good working practice

Collaborate and communicate daily and weekly with Leads across all disciplines

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

High proficiency in all aspects of 3D packages such as Max/Maya/Modo and Zbrush
-
Excellent texturing skills in both Photoshop and Substance Painter

Thorough knowledge of PBR workflow in Substance painter/designer and Quixel mixer
-
Experience using current-generation game engines (e.g. UE4/Unity)

A portfolio demonstrating breath-taking prop/environment modelling and texturing techniques, both high and low poly

Experience with game lighting techniques and implementation

An understanding of realtime and baked lighting solutions

Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

Well organised and autonomous

Should have at least 6 years’ industry experience and worked on 2 x shipped games in a senior or lead position

Experience working in VR

Good knowledge of skinning, rigging and basic animation

Basic understanding of character modelling

A good understanding of VFX creation

Experience with outsource management and communication
