Fabrik Games is looking for a highly skilled and motivated Junior or Mid Level Animator to work on an exciting AAA sci-fi/horror project on a fixed-term contract. The contract is for 8 and a half months with the possibility of going permanent. If you have a portfolio showing love for creating sci-fi and futuristic scenes with a broad range of animation styles, then this could be an ideal role for you. Working mainly in Maya, you’ll need to have a good understanding of all aspects of game art creation and optimisation and be comfortable working collaboratively within a multi-disciplined team.


  • Consistently create high-quality, appealing animations that directly contribute to the realization of successful game characters and interactive cinematic sequences

  • Take ownership of animated work from early pre-visualization to final polish

  • Be a strong team contributor

  • Meet production schedules and deadlines

  • Implement animations into the project’s engine with full ownership of your work and liaise where necessary with the technical designer/programmer to facilitate this 

  • Serve as an active participant in team discussions, critiques and reviews

  • Collaborate directly with senior animator, designers, programmers and other artists to ensure that your work is created in the most efficient and technically responsible manner

  • Contribute to the conceptualization of character behaviours and abilities


  • Exhibit a strong understanding of the fundamental principles of animation and how they can be used to enhance gameplay

  • A strong understanding of modern video game animation systems

  • Thorough understanding of animation fundamentals for human and non-human characters

  • Demonstrable experience in creating animation of a high standard while maintaining visual and functional specifications for game mechanics

  • Excellent animation knowledge or at least one major 3d package (e.g. Maya/3DSMax)

  • Knowledge of animation set up in Unity/Unreal

  • An understanding of game development practice within a studio environment

  • Industry Experience: 1+ years’ experience

  • Worked on 1 x shipped games  


  • A love for sci-fi and horror-themed media

  • Interest in playing games and current technical trends in the medium

  • Experience editing Motion Capture in MotionBuilder.

  • If you have worked on first-person games as an animator would be beneficial but not essential

  • Basic modelling knowledge in any 3D package
