Fabrik Games is looking for a highly-skilled, both creatively and technically, Character Artist to join our team and work on an exciting AAA sci-fi/horror project. You are an exceptional artist, communicator and organizer and you will be responsible for managing art production, collaborating with other artists and participating in reviewing art content production towards AAA delivery. You will be an accomplished production-focused artist with a proven track record in the game industry. To accomplish this you will work closely with the Art Director, Art team and Producers to meet deadlines and achieve the product vision. As part of the character team, you will work with concept artists, animators, designers and engineers to create characters and creatures and weapons for our world. The ideal candidate understands that character work does not end in ZBrush, and can texture, model and optimize just as well as they can sculpt.   • You have a strong understanding of form, anatomy, and color, but know how to break the rules to establish a unique look.

  • You strive for excellence, with a flair for both the aesthetic and the technical.

  • You pride yourself on your ability to give and receive constructive feedback and build a positive team experience for everyone.

  • You understand character movement and how that impacts the modeling process.

  • You are well-versed in modern tools and techniques for creating optimized and textured game-ready content.

  • You feel at home collaborating and communicating across disciplines to ensure your characters meet the needs of the entire project.

  • Experience with Unreal Engine 4 is a plus but isn't required!

  • Establish a technically sound art pipeline that ensures assets meet the criteria for games production

  • Document art processes and establish a good working practice

  • Collaborate and communicate daily and weekly with Leads across all disciplines


  • Advanced skills in Maya, ZBrush, Substance, Marvelous Designer, Photoshop.

  • Experience with character and creature anatomy.

  • Playtest the game with the team to see how the characters are being implemented and to give general notes on the game.

  • Ability to review a character and give concise feedback through quick draw-overs or written documentation.

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

  • Well organised and autonomous

  • Should have at least 4 years’ industry experience and worked on 2 x shipped games in a character position

  • Experience shipping AAA or indie titles is a plus.


  • Experience working in VR

  • Good knowledge of skinning, rigging and basic animation

  • Traditional art skills are a plus, such as life drawing, illustration, sculpting, etc…

  • Actively seeks out new tools and processes.

  • Conceptual design ability is a plus.

  • Experience working with external art vendors for management and communication
