Fabrik is a unique independent studio looking to expand its highly experienced team in Manchester.

Having just celebrated our 5th birthday with a collaborative studio rebrand, we looked back on the previous titles we have worked on including, Filthy Lucre, The Lost Bear and The Persistence which received high Metacritic scores over 77 and 78 respectively.

We are currently looking at expanding our team up to 30 by December 2020 as we are working on a globally recognised sci-fi/horror, AAA cross-platform title for the next 2.5 years.

Over the next 5 years, Fabrik will be bringing the development of world-class games to market with new IP creation always at its heart. This will be done through co-development opportunities and working on future-facing platforms which means further expansion into a different genre of games and technologies.

Based at The Sharp Project, we are just 10 minutes away from the vibrant Manchester city centre, with excellent transport links and free parking in the large car park next to the building.

Free weekly exercise classes are available for all staff, including Yoga and Meditation.

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Technical Designer who can work with us to develop exciting experiences, in a welcoming studio where you will be integral in shaping our team and games. In joining our team, you would have the opportunity to take ownership of key components of the production of a full game and further develop your skills and career. 


  • Experience of working with Unreal Engine 4 and Blueprints.

  • Good knowledge of C++ and scripting Languages.

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in game development.

  • Minimum of 1+ years in a Technical Design role.

  • Good communication and documentation skills.

  • Good mix of Design and code experience.

  • Experience with working in a team.

  • Experience working on First Person shooters is a bonus.




  • Collaborate with the design team to prototype new features and mechanics using Unreal Engine 4.

  • Work on creating innovative prototypes and developing them into high-quality features.

  • Establish good working practises and workflows for the design team to follow.

  • Act as the technical expert on major game features and ensure all tools and best practice guides are documented and clearly communicated to other team members.

  • Test your own and other team members work to ensure the game is to a high standard of quality throughout development.
